Babinski sign and clonus

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone else has developed the babinski sign (when the big toe goes up and the little toes splay out when the bottom of the foot is scratched) or clonus (an extreme form of hypereflexia where there is rhythmic contraction and relaxation causing the foot to "beat" repeatedly). I haven't come across many people whose TBIs have caused these two things. If I'm not mistaken, they point to problems with the upper motor neurons, but while my doctors acknowledge their presence and the fact that they are pathological reflexes, they won't investigate any further. I have many other neurological problems resulting from my TBIs, so they have written it all off as "conversion disorder". I'm not sure if anyone has any experience with these two reflexes and can help me determine if this is something worth pursuing- I am severely limited and impacted by all of the problems my TBIs have caused- I'm just trying to regain control of my life again. Thank you for your time!

I have had a positive Babinski for decades. In my understanding, it is just a diagnostic tool and not a tool for determining treatment.
