Small Procedure to do
I had a small problem with swallowing at lunch 1 day. Not wanting to have a more serious problem, I called my Neuro and he scheduled a barium swallow test for me, They found a very small esophageal ulcer and sent me to a GI doctor. Now they want to a scope to see if it is any problem. The procedure will take place in their office surgery area, and it will require anesthesia, for a short 15 min procedure.
Have any of our group had something like this. If so I would like to hear from you. I have already made the doc aware of my myasthenia and he is to discuss this with their anesthesia doc to be sure he is ok with it. I would like hear your opinion. Thanks FREDH |
I had to have short term anesthesia for a colonoscopy. It didn't cause me any problems at all.
Good luck. |

They use propofol usually for endoscopies which we can usually tolerate. I've had three done and been fine each time. Although apparently I asked for more mestinon as soon as I woke up, after my second one. I don't remember this at all, but it was past time for my usual dose so I must have felt it even in my drugged state!
