Interesting article. They say "So even in a situation where there is no obvious visible brain injury on conventional imaging scans, physicians may be able to still offer treatments that target inflammatory mediators."

I just read a report on DTI (Diffusion Tensor Imaging) that shows a direct correlation between cognitive mTBI/concussion symptoms and changes in white matter. They found that in concussions with prolonged symptoms, there is a change in how water moves through the brain's white matter. In the injured brains, the water does not move through the white matter as well as in healthy brains.

I wonder if this change in water movement is part of the inflammation.

Here is the report on MedScape

The promising part is this will help people with PCS to show they have a true injury versus a psychosomatic injury like so many professionals claim.

So what is the treatment for this then? I did not see anything mentioned in the articles pertaining to treatment for the inflammation.

How does one help this heal?

Some promote an anti-inflammatory diet. A Paleo/Mediterranean diet like the Wahl protocol or Dr Weill's diet.
