Found you guys by accident ...

Searching for something else (info about North American Spine Institute) and lo! And behold ...

Long story short, neck injuries from child abuse (thanks Mom ... ), years of sitting hunched over books and a computer (paralegal by trade), plus a low impact auto accident (guy rear-ended me) and I've been fighting chronic pain, among other things, ever since -- about 7 years now ...

Hi BadgeBunny,

Neck injuries Suck. You sound like me, one added to another, and again… Is that the cause of your headaches?

Chronic Pain is grinding, and you have found - by lucky accident this time - a caring, knowledgeable Community here. Pull up a comfy seat, sit straight and make yourself at home.

Dave.

Welcome BadgeBunny. :Wave-Hello:

BadgeBunny 05-11-2015 09:54 AM

Thanks for the welcome, y'all!!

I've had "debilitating migraines" all by life ... well since puberty, which, as the song says, "was a long, long time ago" ... it wasn't until about 3 years ago, after seeing doctor after doctor ... after doctor ... AFTER doctor ... that I finally got fed up, got a copy of my MRI report.

That, along with a list of my symptoms, and the internet, has finally given me some measure of relief ... oddly enough, my own primary care doc will treat me for whatever I suggest ... lol ... she's a sweet gal, but I get the impression she is too busy to do anything other than the most basic diagnoses ... still she is very open to discussion and more than once has said to me "Oh wow, you know, that's a distinct possibility ... and I didn't even think of it ... let's send you to so-and-so" ... so a nice visit, my meds I need and referrals are not a problem ...

I've had neuros tell me that I'm malingering, that I've got any number of psychological issues (tell me something I DON'T know lol), that I shouldn't even be in there office bothering them because there are people out there with uterine cancer that have it a lot worse than me (odd, he wanted to schedule me for a follow-up) ...

AND my personal favorite -- that I can't possibly be having headaches because there is no light in the back of my head ...

BUT ... I've also had neuros tell me they do not know how I'm not in some home with drool running down my chin, that I'm VERY lucky I still have the amount of function because of the narrowing I have around the nerves between my vertebrae in my neck, as well as the narrowing around my spinal column ...

So ... there are migraines (which have actually lessened since I hit menopause), the tension headaches from muscles spasms and my personal favorites, the cluster headaches ... which are my most debilitating problem ...

The muscle spasms, lack of range of motion, weakness and numbness or my arms and hands, and the all the other little things that come with dropping stuff all the time ... all that I can handle okay, just get really tired of dropping stuff all the time! ;)

I have noticed a worsening of my symptoms in the last 2 or 3 months ... so ... I'm just kinda looking around to see if there is anything I can do to slow that down ... because I'm deathly afraid of winding up in that "home" the one doc mentioned ...

Hmmmm ... didn't mean to share that much ... :o:p

I looked around a little last night ... I'll check back in with you guys this evening ... I'm so glad I found y'all ... :)

ROTFLMAO! The "sit up straight" had me chucking ... you know the drill, huh?? :D

Hi BadgeBunny,

Sharing - that's what the Members here do to you! I'm an introverted Englishman with severe Anxiety issues - I don't 'share', yet scan my Profile AND I've found something to say over 500 times, that is ridiculous. Makes you feel better, though, doesn't it?

Another Cluster Head - Boo! The worst pain in the history of Medicine. Mine are Chronic, currently 8-10 a week, 45 minutes to 2 hours of H… I take Topiramate at high doses to try to counteract them, and am looking into starting Oxygen Therapy when I can get to see my GP. What's your story with them?

Bounce around the Forums, make yourself at home, you will be warmly welcomed with support and advice given freely.

Dave.

Please leave no stone unturned
My eldest child would suffer migraines
Debilitating
One day on April 30, 2003
She suffered her first grand maul seizure
Things got worse as time went on
But she would suffer a migraine before
Like she would say after her seizures the
headache popped

Two other friends
Both suffered brain bleeds

I mean not to frighten you
Just to leave no stone unturned
Take note
Keep a log
God be with you
Me
