Eucalyptus?
I have been taking a lot of Epsom salt baths. Not so much because they help with anything but because It's the one place where I can sit/lay down and not feel my body vibrating, twitching, burning, tingling etc. as much. My grocery store ran out of the kind I usually buy so I bought walmart's equate brand with eucalyptus in it. This made me burn and feel like I had spread icy hot all over. Is this normal? Anybody use eucalyptus and have this happen? I thought it was supposed to be soothing and relaxing....

I don't like to use eucalyptus topically even before I had this. I like to use it in a diffuser only, or as an inhalant on a cotton ball.

Dilute
Pure eucalyptus oil is extremely volatile. That's part of the reason our bush fires are so bad here in Au.. The leaves (where the oil comes from) burn much faster than the wood of the tree.
I'm not sure how much eucalyptus was in the one that canagirl originally mentioned - "My grocery store ran out of the kind I usually buy so I bought walmart's equate brand with eucalyptus in it" I'd suggest using care and caution with eucalyptus oil products and make sure it's well diluted. I do the same with tea tree oil too. I'd certainly never use either straight on my skin. |
