need stories of emotional imbalance
Long story short I have done something a bit crazy first months of symptoms, i was depressed very emotionally unbalanced.
What I did is nothing crazy or violent or threatening, but was too much emotional drama and I am currently losing the most enduring and important friendship to me over this. My friend does not understand what it means to have a concussion. Can I please please have links/references to stories that show her what kind of thinks some people do when they are in the early stages of their concussion? I just need to show her that my brain was not sane. I hope veterans here can point me to the right places. I badly need to save that relation, as I am going crazy over this and this is limiting my progress and throwing me back into dizziness somehow. Thanks |
Hi bachissimo,
It's difficult for people to understand what you're going through if they haven't experienced similar or if they can't see it in front of them e.g. a broken leg or such. Check out these links ... they're also posted at the top of the page in the "sticky" information threads. These are in the first post of the Vitamins Sticky Thread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Xso4qGdlI You look great - Inside a TBI http://www.brainline.org/content/201...u-to-know.html Lost and Found - What Brain Injury survivors want you to know. |

If you developed your relationship with her prior to your brain injury, you may be holding her to a very high standard. Your personality is likely different. I have undergone personality changes with many of my concussions since my first at 10 years old. I lost most of my friends that year. Besides this event you mention, you may be reacting to situations much differently. It may help to get some counseling to help you identify personality issues. If there is a brain injury support group you can attend, it may help, especially if it has a caregivers group within it. It is a challenge for both of you. Believe me. I have lived it for 50 years. My best to you. |
