got hit in forehead on boxing sparring week ago.
Week ago i got hit in forehead on boxing training. I stand up immediately and didn't fall, so it wasn't very hard. I felt little dizzy afterwards, the only physical symptom i had was very light headache. I felt some physical symptoms following day. I didn't made big deal out of it, because it all seemd very mild. I expected it to be gone after 2-3 days.
It have been week now and I'm getting really irritated about current state of my mind. I feel flat emotionally, lacking motivation, having trouble with focus. I simply feel kind of dazed all the time, like after nearby granade explosion. It's not really severe, and It's not as intense as it was 6 days ago (day after being hit). But I'm a writer and my profession depends on my ability to focus and to feel emotions. So I'm getting upset. And I'm starting to ask myself these questions. Was i hit harder than i though? May it be permanent? Should i avoid drinking alcohol? because i was drinking beer every day was helping me to cope with my current state, and I'm going to party tomorrow. |
hellbike,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. It sounds like you suffered a concussion. First, do not drink or ingest any intoxicants until well after you have recovered. Your symptoms are not uncommon. 85% will recover spontaneously within 6 weeks or so. The other 15% have recovery times that vary widely. Getting frustrated is counter to good recovery. Do you train in boxing regularly ? How often do you spar with or without headgear ? |
