4th event.

Ok on Friday I had my 4th TBI, saw my doctor today and she referred me back to my neurologist. My question is regarding this: I had a specific period of time loss on Saturday. I tried to go into work (where I'm told I was "talking crazy") and at a certain point I found myself in the middle of a conversation with a customer. I couldn't begin to tell you how this started. I would guess I only lost a few seconds but I really don't know. When I told my doctor this today (I tried going to Urgent Care on Saturday but "they don't do head traumas" so I just waited til today) she said that if I'd have called in to the doctor on-call, which turned out to be her, she would have sent me in for a CT scan.

So for those of you with memory gaps and CT scans what has turned up? I had one done after my first TBI a year ago but it was clear. Obviously everyone is different but I'm wondering if there'ssome ccommonality.

Thanks.

From what I read recently, unless you have a bleed that shows on the CT Scan, the only imaging that reliably relates to cognitive issues is a DTI MRI. That is a Diffusion Tensor Imaging MRI.

What kind of trauma did you suffer ?

btw, Research also shows that the minor bleeds common to minimal symptom concussions become most imageable at about 72 hours post injury. By minimal symptom concussion, they mean when you do not have obvious neurological symptoms, muscle weakness, sustained speech dysfunction, extreme head ache, etc.

A CT Scan still has value at ruling out a bleed that could get worse.

From what you said, it sounds like it may have been more like a seizure like episode.
