deep breathing excercise is not good

I harmed myself, again.

I did a yoga course a while ago. The instructor told us that deep breathing provides more oxygen and can heal injuries faster. Complete nonsense. It can lead to hyperventilation which is not good for the cells.

Wikipedia cleared me up to late. I did the excercise for about 20 minutes. I feel a pressure feeling since 3h in my head, predominately in the injured area.

Do I have to fear another damage now?

No new damage. Hyperventilating causes a rise in blood pH. Once that gets back to normal, you should feel better.

Deep breathing that causes any symptoms should be stopped.

This yoga instructor is over stating the value of deep breathing.

You may have been taught an incorrect way.....or you did it for too long...

look up " diaphragmatic breathing" to make sure you did it correctly..

Ok this are some good news

I don't think that I did it wrong. Your chest should not move, while your belly is filled with as much oxygen you can breath in, gently.

Breathing too much oxygen lowers the co2 amount inside the cells. That results in a limited adoption of oxygen inside the cells. That s excactly what happens with deep breathing. I see now reason why there should be a benefit of this.

I do yoga but if I do deep breathing too long I will get a bad headache, but I do get headaches with increase blood pressure so this would make sense.
