Many longtime members here

I was on another health board for some 8 yrs and just got tired of the same ole same ole and had to spread my wings and share my experiences with others...I still check in there, but lost interest after so many yrs.

I'm wondering where this forum generates from.

Welcome to our community!

Not sure I understand your question... What do you mean by "where this forum generates from"? What's our history?

I was with a group for over 8 yrs and still drop in there, they are based in Santa Barbara, CA, another site I've gone to regarding my hip replacement is from the UK, that's what I'm talking about....what area of the world does this group come from. I visit another hip group that comes from the south of U.S.

Maybe this page has the information you are asking about - from our sister site -

Oh thank you, I've been curious about the history etc. of this group. I like that it's so diversified and a lot of open minded people. I need that in my life, open minds.

Caroline,

When I came here 5 short months ago I was an introverted virtual shut-in with impaired cognitive function due to brain lesions, meds and stagnation. I had no faith in cyber relationships having only just been coaxed back online by family for the first time since dial-up days.

The wonderful Members here, established and new, have done more for me than Counselling- expanding and sparking my mental processes. I have also made true Friends here, people I share conditions and issues with, that are more meaningful than any I have made in the Real World in the past 30 years.

I have 'shared' more in my Bio than with anyone else, and in my Posts am becoming more comfortable opening up about my Depressive Personality Disorder, and how it affects me day to day. This is not something I spoke of in Therapy.

I try to put a lot of myself into my replies to Member's Posts because the Forums give me so much.

This really is a very important place.

Dave.

Dave, good good good. So far I'm feeling good here. Being able to voice my opinions and not being shot down. We all have our mindsets, but I would never tell a person, don't do this, don't do that. I was on a group for 8 yrs and it was a great home and everyone appreciated everyone but I just got tired of it, so kinda left, I still check in but wanted to spread my wings and share with others what I've learned for so many years. So far, I've learned a lot about MS treatments etc as my dear sister is very challenged now with MS..

Good chatting with you...C
