Very interesting series of YouTubes, if you can keep up with what is being said.

Some of the comments in these YouTubes is outdated. For example, progesterone was found to be of no value in the follow-up clinical trials.

Just a note to those who misunderstand the value of methamphetamine in concussion recovery as mentioned in the YouTube. The low dose methamphetamine must be administered within 12 hours of the impact. Administration after that time is of no value. The methamphetamine suggested would be such as is used for ADHD.

So, don't go looking for or asking for Ritalin or Adderall.

After reviewing the VA concussion guidelines, I found nothing earth shattering. Mostly commonly used concepts except it appears to be overly pharmacology (drugs) oriented. The suggested use of stimulants is troubling to me. I have yet to read any research that suggests stimulants other than the first 12 hours.

Methamphetamine is not in Ritalin or Adderall.

Methamphetamine is Desoxyn. It is rarely used today for obvious reasons.

Desoxyn was a product made at one time by Abbott Laboratories long ago.

The speaker in the first YouTube did not mention Adderall or Ritalin. He just said methamphetamine in low dose as used for ADHD for children. I mentioned Adderall and Ritalin as a warning to not think this was a direction to go with this information.

Methamphetamine has not been used in kids or adults for a long time since the 80's or so. It is not used much at all anymore. I don't know why it would appear in a YouTube unless the doctor was very old and set in his ways. There are links on the net about "research" into brain injury (like in the military).

There is only one generic manufacturer now too. I bet it is very hard to get into drugstores for that reason.

The speaker may have been alluding to the historical use of the methamphetamine used in the study. I rewatched the YouTube and closely quoted what he said. Unfortunately, my auditory memory does no provide exact recall.
