C6-C7 Cyst Found

2 Attachment(s)
Having shoulder and upper body pain primarily on the left side of the body. Greatly aggravated by repetitive use of my hands. Going back 7 years. Got a new MRI this time on a T3 machine and they spotted a Tarlov Cyst report reads:

"Incidentally noted left C6-C7 nerve root sheath cyst noted."

I got the disk today and took a look myself I tried finding the image and taking measurements I will contact the radiologist to confirm my findings.

I came up with 5.6 mm by 5.1 mm.

I think this is the right slide but I'm not entirely sure. I went through the top down images till I found one that looked like what I've seen online. Used the measuring ruler in Imagecast (the included program that the images came in).

Any feedback? Does the image look like I found the correct slide? Look like I'm measuring it correctly? I'm trying to determine my next plan of action and how to approach this and find out if this could be the source of my pain.

Did you find a doc to take the cyst seriously?

If you are having symptoms that match locationally with the nerve map for c6-c7 then it's likely not incidental. Unfortunately, doctors and radiologists have been classically trained to ignore Tarlov cysts.

Tarlov cysts are dialations of the sheath at the base of the nerve root as it leaves the spine and more importantly, they are innervated. Dr. Feigenbaum told me size generally doesn't matter, it's the symptoms. He's had people with small cysts come in with significant symptoms.

Hi Tomatogirl, how are you doing now that some time has passed since you had surgery. Please throw some lines in if you are able. Much appreciated!
