Update on me

I started Gabapentin over a week and a half ago. I am on 100:200:300 starting today. So far, it's helping more than the nortriptyline with everything other than the burning and stinging. Gabapentin is helping those symptoms a bit, I just think nortriptyline did a better job with those symptoms. The good thing is it's really helping me sleep! I sleep a solid 4-5 hours a night. I wake up on and off after that but I am able to GO BACK TO SLEEP! which did not happen before. So, if Gabapentin does nothing more than help with my sleep then I will consider it helpful and keep searching for a med that I can add, that will stop the throbbing, pulsing, burning, and stinging a bit better. I know I am not on the full dosage yet, I am hoping these symptoms will improve with a higher dose. The other good news is that my blurry vision has improved quite a bit since dropping down to 10mg of nortriptyline.

Very good news. And as you increase dose, you may fine it more and more helpful with ALL the symptoms.

Have you heard back about your skin biopsy results yet?

No results yet. Therapath said dr's have results in 10 days ( I am assuming those are business days). I had it on may 20 so it's been 8 business days.). However, the doc said it's typically longer than that. So I don't know... Plus dr's here are really slow to read and pass on the info about tests. So, I bet it will be at least another week (if not more :( )

I am so glad to hear you are starting to get some relief and SLEEP! Blessed, blessed sleep. How wonderful. That should do a lot for many things, energy, mood, pain. Yeah! I hope things continue to improve as you up your dosage and your body adjusts and calms down.

Keep at it Canagirl. I am sending hugs
