Desensitization therapy or irritation therapy

Hi everyone,
So, I think at some point I was looking for a desensitization plan for my SFN. I was even going to go to Canada to have an occupational therapist treat me and instruct me on how to do it.
Now I have NO normal sensation anywhere, so she said she could not help me.
The therapy relies on quickly staring it after symptoms and having normal sensation. I have tried to find someone in the US, with no avail.
Just throwing this out and wondering if anyone has any pearls to add.
TIA:grouphug:

Just a precautionary tale about some of the therapies out there. One poster here is convinced that Accupuncture was the beginning of her nightmare. The Nettles are sharp and we are all barefoot. Ken in Texas.

If you wanted to try a desensitization plan, you can experiment with your own. Google desensitization and RSD. I've seen full protocols that a therapist would use. You could also search the archives on the RSD board. My guess is that this would work much like tens unit - offer temporary relief.
