Feet/OA/Deep Massage

I deal with bodywide OA and my feet have been the last place on my body to have OA come to visit and never leave....my ankles are weak and FOR ME, body alignment is OFF since hip replacement in 2010....but when I wake up from a good night's sleep, I find when I do a deep massage on my feet, it gets circulation and blood flow going and "wakes up" that area of my body. I do feel a relief in my feet.

I know a massage therapist who does this deep work on OA and plan to go to her one of these days. In the meantime, deep work on my feet when I wake up and get out of bed HELPS, I use topicals too and a foot support on right foot, hip surgery side.

Likewise, Deep Massage for Psoriatic Arthritis

:)Hi Again, Caroline! :)

I also find foot massage helpful.
I have both neuropathy and Psoriatic Arthritis in my feet.

I often start with a footbath of warm water and Epsom salts.

If/when my feet are hypersensitive and too painful to touch, it's helpful to me to first work with "healing energy" (ie : Reiki) for awhile and then slowly work deeper into the foot.

I work on my feet at night, while they are screaming in pain from any daily activity. I try to work out/flush any build-up of lactic acid and also try to change the pain signal to a sensation which allows for more sleep.

I sometimes end the massage with an application of magnesium chloride spray, magnesium cream or a different topical, depending upon what feels right at the time. (I have used essential oils, mixed into carrier oils, this way; however, the essential oil types must be well-rotated in order to avoid skin sensitivities. I find the topical magnesium helpful in my case.)

In the past, I have also used a (prescribed) compounded topical of ketoprofen (an NSAID)and a special lotion, referred to as "PLO gel." I hope to get a new prescription for this when I see my Rheumatologist soon. (A muscle relaxant can also be added, if I want on added, which helps the spasms in my feet/lower legs (myotonia). Unfortunately, it's quite expensive. I only have it made up when pain is severe and relentless... and other options are not helping enough. (I have great difficulty ingesting NSAIDs, thus I try them topically if needed.)

It's a pleasure to read your post, Caroline.
Thanks for your many contributions here.

As my life advances, so does the STIFFNESS in my feet. I have used so many topicals over the years, probably the most in the last 5-6 yrs since hip replacement and that trauma to the body. I keep going back to Topricin and never run out...it is homeopathic and contains 11 homeopathic solutions and they tell us on the bottle what these 11 solutions address pain wise....homeopathy is special and I've used it off and on for years...was going to really get into it for my general health, but it really takes dedication and extra money. But this Topricin is something else....thought I mentioned it here but maybe not. I just rubbed my STIFF feet when I got out of bed...gives some nice relief for a while...everything is temporary, arthritis is permanent.

I just made a new order of Vicks Salve that I use on my feet. Buy 2 6 oz jars on amazon as one can't buy but a small jar in the drug stores. I have used so many topicals and my feet are no exception. They have gotten so worse with OA in the last year. Vicks is an anelgesic and I find when I use it on my feet I even sleep better. Vicks has been around forever and I grew up on it. So many new products over the years and good old tried and true are forgotten.

I hadn't used Vicks for a while as I get sidetracked with other stuff I use, a lot of my own made up remedies that I doctor my stuff up with.

Last night I used Vicks on my feet for the first time in some time. I had a new jar that I added drops of tea tree oil and oil of oregano to and rubbed my feet with this mixture, generous amount, put on my socks. and last night I had a great night sleep as I said in the August post above. I'll use it nightly and see if the sleep pattern continues. I added my comments to a thread on the PN group and noticed that another member said when he used it, he had the greatest night sleep. Think I'll go over to amazon and read the reviews again.

My poor feet! How they've changed in the last few years and for me mostly since hip replacement, whole body is off...

I've used Vicks on my feet a lot but got the thought of MSM cream..I've used MSM powder internally for years and so bought a jar of MRM brand MSM and I really really like it and it's already feeling like a healing is going on in my feet. I'm buying another jar as I'll be using it a lot now. I also add drops of oil of oregano and tea tree oil to the cream. Not a lot but some drops.

Maybe someone will chime in here with OA in feet.

Since I've been so down with the knee issue and not walking for about 3 months the OA in right foot has worsened. I now wrap it with ace wrap and still use rubs but it worries me since it's advanced.

Since using the HGH gel I'm talking about here at various areas, my arthritic feet are improving...yep and I've reached 81 and feet and everything is improving with the HGH homeopathic gel I'm using.

My daughter has two feet with collapsed arches/tendons and since using the GEL is so improved, NO PAIN, no pain meds in her life. She's 55. Surgery is so dangerous and hard and she's gotten a few different opinions on doing any surgery.

If you want to know about the Gel we're using please ask.
