Percura

Anybody try Percura? I did a forum search and found nothing... Wondering if it's helpful

Hi, I just read some info on this amino acid med but know nothing about it. I'm still working with Sphingolin and Inosine, now under a month, but will work with these for about 3 months for sure. I may be feeling less tingling on my thigh. Here is a blog with comments on Inosine and Neuropathy:

Caroline, I recall your mentioning that you use hydrochlorothiazide diuretic for blood presssure. If you are still taking that, be aware that it will raise uric acid, in the blood.
Inosine has shown in the few studies on it, that it also raises uric acid. This may lead to kidney stones, gout attacks for some people. So do make sure you remain hydrated properly as well.

Thanks, I have water bottles everywhere and forever hydrating. Of course, I'd like to be off that diuretic I take for BP, maybe I'll start taking less. I know the doc gave me amlopodine some time back and sure enough after on it about 30 days, ended up with edema, which is the first possible s/e of this drug. Grape Seed Ex up dosing got rid of edema, but I have since cut the drug in half. IF only I could get off them all.

I worked so long and hard not to go on any.

Got to thinking about this diuretic since your coments, and since I trust my pendulum pretty much, just asked "Pen"...

With tab under pendulum, asked: Is this diuretic doing me any good? Got a Negative swing... Then asked in same
position, should I wean off this drug and I got a Positive swing. ummmmmmmmm

Canagirl, didn't mean to hijack, this happens so often, one thing leads to another etc in our threads.

Hi Canagirl, I’ve read one of your recent posts about your sfn diagnosis and I truly hope you can get your symptoms under control soon.

I have no personal experience with percura, but according to the product information you should only be taking it under a doctor’s supervision: http://www.cincinnatihealthinstitute...ds/Percura.pdf

For my neurological problems, I’ve been taking methylcobalamin (B12), vitamin D3, and magnesium citrate among others. I’ve found that the B12 has helped with my spasticity, and magnesium helps my muscles relax and helps me walk a little bit better.

Caroline, I think you should get a blood pressure cuff and start recording your pressures several times a day.
once in the morning, before breakfast,
1 hr after breakfast,
around 4pm
and after supper.

Armed with this data, then contact your doctor and discuss whether you need the drug at all. Considering your age, this is important to do with your doctor's permission --whether to stop using the diuretic.

Your BP log will show if you need all 3 drugs. You can mark the log at the times you take them as well.

BPs tend to be highest in the morning.

In the meantime watch for signs of gout. That might be quicker to manifest than kidney stones.

Just looking at the ingredients which are primarily amino acids and I've worked with amino acids off and on for many years. And see Inositol in the mix too, and I take some days 500mg Inositol 3 times per day, 2 times for sure.., which is from the B family. Inositol is a calming supp. I use it in my sleep combo too.

One could think about getting on an otc complex amino acid supp and even add Inositol to kinda mimic the drug. I'm sure I would not be shocked at what pharma is charging for this amino based "food drug".
