New Tongue weakness causing slurred speech
So I'm 31 yr old female. Recently after eating ice cream, I noticed that I was having trouble speaking. My speech was slurred and I felt I couldn't move my tongue as usual. Then it happened again after I ate hard candy. This is really worrying me and I wanted to know if anyone has had any similar experiences?? I'm thinking the worst. I feel like this could be the beginning of a neurological disorder?

Welcome Nadasa1983. :Wave-Hello:

Hello Nadasa,
I just wanted to say "welcome" to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. If that happened to me I'd go straight to my doctor to find out why this is happening. I'm sorry I have no other insights. You could perhaps also ask over on the Cranial nerve or Trigeminal Neuralgia forum as well. Even though you don't describe pain, the members there may be able to head you in the right direction. Occipital Neuralgia and other Cranial Neuralgias For discussion of Occipital Neuralgia, Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia, Nervus Intermedius (or Geniculate Neuralgia), and Vegal and Superior Laryngeal Neuralgia. (Trigeminal Neuralgia has its forum.) |
