Mountain Lion Encounter

Whoa! That is one scarey situation. I bet the cougar was hungry. Wild animals don't come up to humans or homes unless sick or hungry. That is a rare video, Chemar!

There have been sightings upNorth, not far from us (within the 100 mile range that cougars have). The animal was photographed.

This is one animal that gives me the heebeejeebees up there. We do have Bobcats, too. The bear you can scare away most times.

We have a Cougar in the area which ran across our lawn and by the bedroom window. We also have a bear in the area which I would just as soon not have on our place. Also a wolf went around our house and came back a few times. Haven't saw that for awhile and that is fine with me.

Amazing video isn't it....

I did have to giggle at the wife's reaction to Dad's comment on where the kids were ;)
Wonder what would have happened though had she not reacted so loudly....that lion looked powerful enough to crack the glass with one swipe!

He was probably checking out which homes had edible pets!

My son's 3rd cat chose his home, to beg for rescue. She ran in when he opened the door to put the trash in the nearby dumpster.
She could smell his other cats I am sure.

When a rare visit by a male tortie cat is made to us (he comes by infrequently), our cats can smell him before he starts in with his vocalizing...they smell him thru the walls! They are alert immediately!

Thanks Chemar - awesome :).

Just as well the cat was safe inside I guess.

Mountain Lion

I had my rescued Chihuahua mix attacked by a mountain lion right in front of me at our cabin in Montana a few years ago. Luckily the mountain lion saw me and let go. The dog survived with 82 stitches. It was a horrible experience. I have not wanted to go back up there since that happened. It happened in my own front yard.

It's a wonder such a little dog survived. How awful. :(

Little Checkers

Here is a picture of little Checkers after his mountain lion encounter. He never cried even once. He was a tough little guy. He was 16 years old when this happened. He passed away at age 18.

Poor little Checkers.

He lived to a good age for a little dog. You must have looked after him so well. Amazing he survived that attack. It's so good you were there although I'm very sorry to read that you've lost your little companion since that happened.
