Liver problems

I just got back from the doctor to see how cat scan on my thymus and lungs came out. Those were ok; however, I apparently have a severely enlarged liver. All my liver enzymes tests were ok.

I have an appointment in a couple of weeks with a board certified gastroenterologist. I am really wondering if it could be from cellcept or mestinon.

It is interesting because I have been saying that it felt like there was too much stuff in my abdomen pushing up on my lungs. Now somebody actually sees what it is.

Anybody else with liver issues and could it be related to medication or MG itself?

Celeste,

Well, that's pretty scary!! Is it possible that you have Hepatitis?

From what I can tell from literature, both of those drugs are cleared through the kidneys.

I'm sure you've already done the searching about this, but here's what Mayo lists as possible causes of it.

Whatever the cause is, I hope you will also look into alternative therapies such as Milk Thistle (talk to your doctor first, of course!).

I'm really sorry. That's such shock when a person gets news like that. I hope they can reverse any damage or make it better (transplant?).

I have an appointment with a specialist, so I guess I will just wait and see what he says.

Celeste, This may be a long shot, but I was wondering if you've ever been worked up for hemochromatosis.

I hope you get answers soon!
