Using Smartphones With a Tremor

Anyone here use smartphones even though you have a bad tremor? My tremor is severe & not improved much with meds. My husband has a smartphone, but I've never gotten one for myself because when I try to use his, it's impossible with this tremor. Very touchy screen. Soon I'm into something I never intended & can't get out! I know you can use voice to tell it to do some things, but haven't mastered that yet. So I stick with my sturdy old dumb flip-phone. What are your experiences?

Your post has been up for some time so I thought I would chip in what I can, though my tremor is not nearly that severe.

Android phones have a really speech to text capability that just works amazingly. Also you always just speak to dial someone, like "OK google, call Tom Hanson". or you say "ok google, whats the weather tomorrow?, etc. Iphones have added these features too but Google has it down pat.

If I were thinking about a smartphone I would learn about these kinds of things as soon as I got the phone or perhaps before I chose one. I'm sure there are more features you might be able to use too but I see these features as possibly being great for you.

Huge increase in the amount of "Google Voice Commands"

On my Samsung S4, it does a very nice job of learning/understanding. Two year old model phone. Starting with S5 they added Samsung Voice, but I haven't used it.

"OKAY GOOGLE, What time is it?"

Amazing list of google commands:

In the car, I enter "OK Google, directions to iPIC theater" -- pulls up map, and all I have hit is "START". I use the voice commands as reminders so I don't miss my exit.
