Sleepwalking
I have been sleepwalking a couple nights a week or I think only a couple nights. This just started about a month ago. I have had no medication changes or changes in my routine. I have had an increase in pain recently but having a pain increase is almost normal. The only way I know I have been sleepwalking is because I wake up while walking into walls and feeling the pain from that. Has anyone else experienced this or can offer any suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Nursekris,
That must feel very surreal and disorienting. Even though you haven't had Med changes are you taking anything that causes sleepwalking? As you know, Individual response to a med can change over time. The atypical hypnotics, ie: ambien, etc. are notorious for causing sleepwalking. |

Thank you so much for the quick reply! The only thing I take for sleep is Amitriptyline. It's just weird because I would sleepwalk all the time when I was a kid. Until recently the only odd thing I would do is talk in my sleep. There have been no changes in my daily routine either. It is very frustrating because sleep is an issue for me, like all of you, and to add this on top of everything just makes me want to scream. But I will keep going day by day or hour by hour. |
hi nursekirs. i have never slept walk while having rsd so i can't really offer any advice except to say that i would let your pm dr know about it. maybe it is a reaction to the pain meds you are taking for rsd. i hope whatever it is you can find a way to stop it from happening so that you can get a good nights sleep. soft hugs.
