Not clean enough for fish

It worked before the MS. I was the cleaning one, he wasn't. He had carpentry, problem solving skills and complimented mine. But now am in a chair 24/7, have one hand, am not strong and when DS caught fish on a ocean boat with his friends and wanted it for dinner DH cooked it. But nobody cleans up properly after. It looks fine but I think it stinks. So it took forever but things are sprayed, wiped, de-stinked. DH and I do have different standards but PLEASE. Everyone can smell what fish leave. This is a really frustrating thing MS has caused. Things I can's do well and easily anymore.

I have CRPS and I can only stand unassisted, i walk with crutches, but both exhaust me. I used to be an uber housekeeper, but now I am an over housekeeper. My h has to do most everything. He cleaned the bathrooms, but not the toilets. LOL so I know what you are feeling. It was a big day for me when I managed to wipe two window ledges which were full of pollen.

I don't love this new normal.

I'm pretty sure guys think the Toilet Fairy comes and takes care of that kind of stuff 8-D. DS thinks Mom is a clean freak because she thinks the toilet in his college apartment needed more cleaning then between clean and disgusting. Guys.

I hear ya. When both of my boys lived at home their bathroom was a science experiment! I told them what I expected re cleaning it and they'd do it but only after it reached a point of near filthiness. Thank goodness nobody else had to use that bathroom.........

I used to be able to clean the house top to bottom in 1/2 a day. Now......that's a thing of the past. I have to have a cleaning lady every other week. I like her and enjoy the company but hate that I just cannot do what she does.

I also had to have a mailbox installed on my front porch and arrange for the mail carrier to bring my mail to it instead of the box at the road. Same thing for my garbage pickup. I have had to make arrangements for the collector to walk down my driveway and get my garbage container. The recycling truck driver also has to walk down to the front of my garage and pick up any recycling I may have. It's just a service they both offer for disabled folks.

I also have books from the library delivered via the mail through their program for folks who can't go to the library.

I use Schwan's for most of my grocery shopping. They deliver every other week. I also have fresh local produce and dairy products delivered every Tuesday. They also deliver homemade bread.

I get everything else delivered by UPS or FedEx (I now know my driver's on a first name basis!! :D). Cat food, paper products, toiletries....really just about anything can be delivered. Just order via the Internet and pay with a credit card or PayPal. I think I'd do it this way even if I could still drive. It's just too convenient. ;)

So, things I used to be able to do for myself are now done for me or brought to me.

It took some effort but all these services are available for the disabled. You just have to look for them.

I haven't quite started with grocery shopping via the net, but we do get a lot of things delivered to the house. Just about every other day, the cat is still scared of the UPS truck though, but once the driver comes up he braves his fear and comes out long enough to say hi, before taking off again.

But the DH also has no clue what a toilet brush is. The one time he actually managed to figure it out, we had to leave the house because he'd used ammonia to start cleaning and ran out so he grabbed the bleach to finish .

i really hate my house right now, it's covered in dust bunnies, there's still dishes in the sink and forget the bed being made :(. I used to keep the house nice and clean. Dusting ceiling fans every other week, laundering the curtains every month and washing the windows till they shined.

The DH tries to help out, but honestly not only does he work long hours, but he just doesn't know how to clean. He thinks vacuuming is simply flipping it on quickly running it across the floor and done! Who cares if you can still see cat hair everywhere? It was vacuumed. :sigh:
