Odd new visual symptom with eyes crossing midline

The past week or so I've been experiencing a bizarre new symptom that seems to occur when I move my eyes across my midline (although sometimes it happens spontaneously without moving my eyes). It seems whenever I do this I get this sort of "shock" sensation that manifests in my head, around the eyes, sometimes down my hands and around my heart/upper left chest. It doesn't last very long, but it happens fairly frequently, and seems to get worse as the day progresses.

Anyone else experience anything like this, or have an inkling to what it means? I'm not really anxious about it, it's just strange, and I don't understand why it's surfaced. I can't pinpoint some activity that caused it. My best guess is that I did start seeing a new practitioner within the past couple weeks who has done some neck work to try to loosen up my exceptionally tight neck muscles (both in the front and back). He says neck muscle tightness and eye muscle dysfunction can be related (something other people have told me, even my neurologist). He wasn't particularly tough, just trying to get some kind of biofeedback loop to relax the muscles.

This could be a withdrawal symptom from the lexapro. Look up "brain zaps" and see if this is what you are experiencing. I've never had it but it seems to be a common symptom when people stop taking SSRI's.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. And here I was thinking that I got off scot free from discontinuing the lexapro. I was on such a low dose (10mg), and tapered off over the course of a month and a half after being on it for about a year. Bizarre, hopefully they go away soon. Thanks for figuring this out!

Anyone else experience these during SSRI withdrawal? How long did they last?
