Bump of head still after 6 months
 

Anybody with any advice or knowledge on this would be appreciated
Put quickly I hit the back of my head playing soccer. I was dizzy but didnt lose conscious or any memory any time later. 6 months later i still have a bump on the back of my head and the top of my head is swollen a bit, tender to the touch which gets me dizzy and a headache if i rub or touch.

Had a ct scan on the day of injury came out clear. 5 months later neurologist sent me to get an mri on my head. Hasnt called me anytime before my appointment so I would assume he found nothing. The radiologist showed me results my brain looked fine. Ran contrast on me and there were no leaks.

My question to ya is what are these bumps on my head? Are they skin tissue? If my brain and skull are fine according to those tests how come these bumps are giving me headaches and trouble talking at times? Any help would be greatly appreciated, (PS my neck make little weird noices when i turn left to right fully) but neuro said to worry about head first

Your neck is just as important. Neck inflammation can cause reduced vertebral blood flow to the brain and brain stem. Headaches can be caused by upper neck injuries.

You might benefit from a NeuroPsych Assessment or an assessment by a speech pathologist.

The swollen area is likely inflammation of any of the many layers of tissue and nerves that cover the skull.

Do you just struggle with word finding or do you slur your words ? I have both, but its not crazy bad where people will notice. I got this problem maybe 1 month after concussion. Before the month there was no signs of slur or finding words

Well I have my appointment with neurologist tomorrow, and ill let bring up your suggestions.But it does feel like there could be something with blood related there, When i workout and do a touch ur toes work out standing i feel like the blood is already on my head. Usually it takes a while for the blood to feel like its at my head before injury.

Unless others say you slur your words, I doubt you do. When people with head injuries slur their words, they usually are not aware they are doing it. The slurring is because the brain is working in slow motion.

Stuttering or pausing as one speaks is more common. It is often combined with word finding struggles.

Many of us have a difficulty putting our head lower than our hearts. This is often a brain blood flow regulation issue. The vascular regulation system often takes a long time to fully recover.

Thanks MArk, my MRI results came in normal, everything looks good, neurologist told me my nerves are probably still sensitive, and the bumps are probably fat that just got caught there during the hit and are probably not going away. These probablies bug me because its just their guess, but they did say everything looks good and im too young and looking fine to do any surgeries.
