Question about copyright
I hope that staff team members might be able to help me with this.
Am I right in thinking that any post from a NeuroTalk member is copyright (ie, it is their intellectual property and can not be used elsewhere without specific consent)? The reason that I ask is that I am a member of the admin team of another world-wide health support board which, like NeuroTalk, is based in the US so US law may be relevant. There has been some discussion of allowing posts on that board to be used by third parties. I am strongly opposed to this, mainly for privacy reasons but also because of copyright issues. Any advice would be welcome. |

Excellent Chemar
Hi kiwi- Excellent question responded to in kind by Chemar.
I, too, am comforted to know NT admins are vigilant helping users stay within prescribed norms. Glad to know Dr John and admin wisdom shapes respectful IP policy. Our words are our own. That same wisdom meshes well with the U.S. HIPAA respect for health information protection. Yes, some airing of health matters occur here, yet it is done to enable shared support dialogue....not to exist as a treasure trove for publication by those who do not own the IP. I am glad protection exist to protect we who post. Good luck with your other board. M56 |
