processing speed
anyone have any luck with any type of therapy to improve processing speed? if so what, how long was the therapy, and what kind of improvement?
|
From what I have found, processing speed is tied to the physical capability of the axons/white matter. Improving blood flow and oxygenation to that area is most important. Improving functions of those axons is important so anything that can help with the health of the myelin sheath and glymph system is important.
How do you know that you have slowed processing speed ? Some claim to have exercises that help with processing speed but others think this is more about learning to focus on a task than increasing actual processing speed. Distracted attention can slow processing speed. |
interesting - thanks Mark. let me PM you for details.

I've been prescribed Amantadine recently to improve concentration and other things. I haven't taken it long enough to see any results yet, so not sure if that helps.
The brain injury dr that prescribed it told me that aerobic exercise is the best therapy for the brain as it increases the blood flow. I have a stationary bike at home that I do my exercises on and it allows me to have a controlled/consistent exercise regimen. Look up Buffalo Protocol for guidelines. |
