I'm going to a medical marijuana friendly state!

I am going to visit one of the mm friendly states next week and wondering if any of you out there have advice on edibles for sleep. I have burning in my legs, occasional jabs and twitches. The twitches only come when I try to sleep at night. I know that I can get advice at the dispensary but you guys have personal experience with Peripheral Neuropathy. I'm not interested in getting buzzed, just being able to sleep through the night would be buzz enough!! If you'd rather PM me that would be great. Thanks.

If it's Washington state, I can fill you in on what the procedures are. I've only tried an edible once. It affected my husband and me completely differently, so just be aware that you may have to do some experimenting. It can take an hour or two to feel the effects, so be very careful about taking too much before you know how it affects you.

MJ might be great for sleep, I don't know. Since I am in Texas and people are still pretty uptight about being so close to Colorado I thought I would tell you my system in case your trial fails. I rub feet w/ Mortons Epsom Salt Lotion and take 10mg generic Ambien. In about 20 min blissful sleep. Sleep is essential so whatever it takes(short of Alcohol). Good Luck, Ken in Texas

Thanks Ken. Just to give you a heads up please read the side effects for Ambien. Besides burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings, Neuropathy is also listed under the subheading of Central and Peripheral Nervous System. Ambien is intended for short term use and it is probably safe for that. Unfortunately, I had used it for more than 10 years and I stopped since I became aware of this information.

I assume you know that you can't go into a medical marijuana dispensary if your out of state? That being said...

Cheeba Chews is probably the most powerful edible around that has exact dosing. By that, I mean each dose will be exactly the same as the last. They are little tootsie roll tasting candies that I eat half of.

I recommend the 70m Indica. Eat half and it will hit you between 45 minutes and an hour.

I'm quitting it now

I am cutting mine in half and will wean myself off. I am interested if you titrated down or cold turkey? Did you sleep OK quickly or did you have to do the imsomniac theater thing? Thanks, Ken in Texas.

Hi Ken. I was so freaked out I stopped cold turkey, but the recommended way is to wean yourself off. It took about 5 days to get out of my system. I slept the 1st night I think because i had a large build up of the drug but the 2nd and 3rd night were not fun. I broke down on the 3rd night and took an Ativan. The 4th night was better and the 5th was ok. I've always had trouble sleeping so you might do better. Good luck!
