Does anyone get pins and needles and sharp foot pains when eating when having a so so tolerable day?
Was having a protein meal along with 20 carbs.

do you have diabetes, this looks like the work of peripheral neuropathy, if you have diabetes its called diabetic neuropathy.

I do have diabetes .... I know I have peripheral neuropathy. What I was asking. "Does anyone experience sharp pins and needles that is related to happening during a meal or right after a meal? [emoji3][emoji264]

Hi uglogirl,

I have never linked the needle-sharp stabs in my hands and feet to food consumption - yet. But I have only had these particular symptoms since the beginning of the year when my blood glucose was out of control. Now it is better, still get the stabs.

I will have to map them against time, meds and meals.

Dave.

thank you English Dave. congrats on getting your sugar under control. I have been for a yr trying to do the same. PCD was reluctant to prescribe anything finally been on Junuvia going into 3rd week. Fasting was 160-180 before. Readings started in 140's then last week 120's.

That's a really good drop, Uglogirl. Long may it continue. I kept off meds by the skin of my teeth as my diet was working so well.

Wait for a few weeks and see if your pins and needles pains settle. We can only hope.

I agree English Dave give it time and now with the dental work kicking the symptoms up just have to wait it all out. I get so mad at these doctors that don't want to work with a patient. A year ago I wanted him to give me something cuz I could not get the sugar down. His reply was he thought it would go down to far. Him referring to the doctor

My original primary dr said 30 carbs a day and I thought he didn't know what he was talking about, what a fool I have been. With hard work and faith it will be ok.

Yes, a lot of docs want to be very conservative and try diet and exercise before giving any meds for fear of hypoglycemic episodes but there are many drugs that do not generally cause hypo's.

Glad to hear you have gotten some assistance with lowering your levels. Great job. Wishing you even better numbers but you sure are heading in the right direction.

All the best to you.

I do get sympomatic when I consume too much sugar, be it carbs or straight up sugar, but bear in mind I am almost two years in on a very strict vegan approach.

I feel there is some autonomic dysfunction at play (let's leave it at gastointestinal in general) so I like to keep my eating at a certain level- Goldilocks, not too much, not too little, just the right amount.

When I do have a hungry day I allow myself to graze mostly because I am not hungry often- see gastro generality. I make myself eat if up against meal time but that is it.

I have strayed a but off topic, but yesterday was a day where some extra sugars courtesy of granola bit me. It is the price of being as well oiled as I can be at this point- it doesn't take much to muddy my waters- but it has allowed me to tackle obstacles that otherwise would have felled me.

Stay strong, build your plan at a pace that will work for you. If cheat dayswork for you, go for it. I know where that would have put me. In the Lumber Mill with Danny Noonan from Caddyshack.

My best,

Jon
