relaxing during sleep
does anyone have any suggestions for supplements to relax during sleep?
i fall asleep fine. however, when i wake up my entire body is tensed up and my dentist tells me i grind my teeth. it's pretty extreme: i feel a lot of muscle fatigue from all the tensing up i'm doing. |
I had the same problem. I clinched my jaw and built up intense jaw muscles.
I take gabapentin and it makes a big difference. SSRI's can cause these symptoms. |
did you try any herbal/behavioral solutions to this? is this just stress for you or did you find some other cause?
i'm not taking any medication other than the vitamins so i'm not sure what could be causing it. |
PCS can cause it. Anxiety too. Inflammation to the brain stem and related injuries (brain stem concussions) can cause it. Very minor sensory stimulation can cause it. Blood sugar levels, caffeine, MSG, artificial sweeteners, and who knows what else.
I need very comfortable pajamas and sheets. If I feel any sensory stimulation, I will be likely to tense up. I have to fully empty my bladder before bed. |
Same problem here. I found magnesium and calcium to help. I also use Cenitol a supplement for nervous system support before bed. Cutting out too much sensory exposure and other brain stresses were also really important. I no longer grind my teeth unless I do too much.
