Neck MRI/ Double vision
 

Hey Two questions!

Anyone ever had a neck MRI, whats the purpose and what did yours show, just curious

And Double vision, does anyone here still experience bouts of double vision at random times during the day, been about a year.

There are a variety of reasons for a neck MRI. The purpose would be specific to the individual's complaint. Cervical MRI's are not done for non-specific reasons like head MRI are. There are many different symptoms that can suggest a need to eliminate various abnormalities in a brain that cause doctors to do brain MRI's to rule those things out and to limit their liability. That is rarely the case with the neck.

The subtle injuries to the neck would not be noticed in most MRI's unless the MRI was specifically targeting a specific issue.

I don't get double vision, but my vision does go slightly blurry on occasions. It's kind of weird as this doesn't happen too often, but when it does it's usually a bad day. However, I have lots of bad days where it doesn't happen.

I've mentioned this to a couple Neuros but after doing their cursory vision test, all they say is that my vision is great.

My vision doesn't go double but it gets blurry especially when I am tired of concentrating I have a difficult time focusing on something.

I am 16 months out.

Convergence insufficiency is pretty common among TBI patients. I read one study where, seven years post injury, 42% of the test subjects were still struggling with this issue.

You might want to consider asking for a referral to a neuro ophthalmologist. Perhaps, like me, you might benefit from wearing prisms.
