How much rest a day?

Hi again all,

I'm sure most of you know by now but I'm about 10 months in post concussion syndrome and I'm just wondering how much rest is needed for me daily, if any at all?

I normally just lie in bed for about a half hour to an hour a day. My symtomps are nearly constant so they don't change with rest.

Could lack of rest be setting back recovery ?

I suggest you find a mildly stimulating activity that engages your brain just enough so you do not get stuck with your mind ruminating on your struggles/symptoms and use it to zone out for a bit.

Forced rest with your mind struggling is not good rest. If you have music or a video that allows you to rest your thinking.

If you start to struggle, loose focus, etc. Take a break.

Studies show that short breaks throughout the day are better than one longer break.

By taking time out as soon as tiredness or overload symptoms appear I cope much better, to the point now of only needing short breaks/rests - some days more or less thanks others.

Was told I had to push through it and came to an almost standstill, fatigue issues multiplying big time.

Achieving much more now and adding more variety to life even if only for short times, but with time, seeing improvement.
