Surgery update

My surgery yesterday went well. I am feeling a little sore but overall pretty good. I see doc on Monday for first check up. Thanks for all well wishes.

Sorry about your pain. Usually a couple of days later is worse than the next day. Be kind to yourself and give your body what it needs to heal. That includes a calm mind. Trying is easier said thasn done....but e give you permission:grouphug:

Hi GoBlue,

Acute surgical pain is the worst in the first four days, or so I have been told. I don't remember your med situation. What did they give you for pain? Did they send you out on any neurontin or minocycline for neuro protection?

Be sure you are staying on top of scheduled pain meds and not allowing yourself to have breakthrough. No need to tough it out. Elevation is important as you know. And although ice is not good for CRPS, cooling is good for swelling and ice will not get through your ACE wrap to cause damage. You have insulation, place cool packs on it and keep it up.

sending hugs and healing love,

I have percocet for pain. I am still taking 1200 gabapentin per day they didn't do gab and monocyline.

I am hoping it is just healing of surgery and not crps. See doc tomorrow afternoon. I have been icing a lot and elevation also.

Had a bad night cried out in pain with some of the nerve pain. I was hoping this morning would be better but so far is not. Still lots of burning pain and then shooting nerve psins. I am getting really nervous that all this has been crps all along. I see surgeon this afternoon will be interested to see what his thoughts are. Regretting surgery so far...the percocet hasnt mafe much difference.

So sorry you had such a rough night. :( Was there a plan in place to get a block done or get a ketamine infusion if you had a lot of nerve pain?
