Mindfulness for children:

I like this page because the questions and answers are short and simple.

Usually, when we’re afraid, we try to run away from whatever scares us. When I am scared, I breathe deeply and calm myself. I try to stop my thinking and just breathe. This always helps me.

This is great!

Hi Mari! :D

I've been hoping to say hello to you since returning to NT.
This is my opportunity. :D
I am glad you are still participating here.

This is an interesting article. Short, to the point and sweet.

Children have a very special place in Thich Nhat Hanh's heart. :grouphug:

Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Mari!

I am very happy to know you are well.

With Admiration and Gratitude,
DejaVu

P.S. I love Thich Nhat Hanh! :D
I have met him several times. I have studied under him, primarily, for approx. 20 years. He had a community here in this state for several years. He was here often. He still visits the area. He has a very special place in my heart. :winky: I am sure I am biased.

Hi, DejaVu!

Oh wow.

You are blessed to have studied under Thich Nhat Hanh? Do people really call him Thày?

I have read a couple of books of his.
Here's a quote I ran across on the Interwebs somewhere recently:
"Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.” --- love this one.
― Thích Nhất Hạnh, Peace Is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life

I follow him on facebook.

Hi Mari,

I do feel fortunate to have had training under Thich Nhat Hanh.
I had started reading his books and listening to his recordings of week-long retreats. I then looked into the locations of his communities, and at that time, he had one within an hour of my home. Lucky me! :D The community (a Nunnery and a Monastery) continued on while he was away, either traveling or at Plum Village. Yet, he was at this community often. The community was also open to the public on certain days/hours. It's been one of the highlights of my life.

Yes, people call him Thay.

He is famous for his "walking meditations," which I love to do!
It's a fun alternative to sitting meditation.

Yes, that's a great book, in my humble opinion.
Yet, I am biased, I enjoy all of his books.

He has written one on anger which is outstanding, as well.
He teaches us to understand our anger and to embrace our anger while improving our relationships with ourselves and with others.
This book has a very cool (my bias) example of a written agreement between two people regarding how to wisely/mindfully address anger within the relationship. (I have given this book away so many times!)

Anger: Wisdom for Cooling the Flames, by Thich Nhat Hanh.

I am very biased, Mari! :winky:
It's good to interact with you again!
