Pain - need help
Hi all. I take medications for type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and neuropathy. My doctor has just changed my medication back to pregabalin, which I was on years ago and which worked well, but the dosage he gave me was just 25 mg morning and evening, and I am in agony, mostly at night, so I am not sleeping. What should the normal dose of pregabalin be, and any thoughts on what else might help (ibuprofen and paracetamol together??) I am wrecked.

Hi nannoo55
Welcome to Neurotalk. Your post seems to have gotten missed - sorry I can't help you with the medication dose question but this will bump it up so maybe someone with more knowledge will come along and reply. You may like to add what the medication and dose you changed from was and did you taper off it - sometimes changing from a high dose of one medication suddenly to a low dose of another may aggravate neuropathy symptoms. You can also use the search function to find other threads/posts about pregabalin. (minimum 4 characters in the search box). All the best for finding some relief. |
Hi nannoo,
Welcome to NeuroTalk! :D Sorry you are in such pain. :( Since you have multiple meds and it's a weekend, can you call your chemist/pharmacist to have the chemist/pharmacist help you to determine which additional meds are safest for you? Contact your doctor this coming week about the pregabalin dose. It's likely the doctor has started you at this dose for a reason. Have you found any topicals helpful? I am sorry I can't be more helpful. I don't want to cause you any potential for a dangerous interaction. I hope you find relief, soon! Warmly, DejaVu |
