New electric pain

Last night I started having a new electric pain in my right foot at the site of the original injury. It is brutal, like a burning electric wave that hits hard and then diminishes. At the same time my fingers are hot/cold and tingling.

I also get electric shock like feeling in my lower back worse when I have to climb steps ...and I do that slowly. I found that the sneakers they sell that simulate walking on sand for exercise help absorb some of the pain (Sketchers makes them and a few other companies I got mine at Payless this pain is separate from the burning pain and a different area than my RSD/CRPS pain. The burning and hot/cold tingling is the norm for RSD/CRPS; I don't know your specific situation nor would I be able to dx the electric pain you are having if you have not already I'd mention to your Doctor. I hope your having a low pain day.

Thank you for the sneaker rec, I will look at the sketchers.

This new intermittant pain lasted a few days. It was vile and so unbearable I upped my neurontin which thankfully stopped it. I will call the pain doctor about it.

It seems as if RSD is a horse of many colors. Last night my feet felt as if I walked a marathon, I spent most of the day on my couch. My husband said I groaned all night.

There are two possibilities:

1) RSD is a horse of many colors and this is another new symptom
2) The electric shocks are actually a symptom of your nerves regenerating

My $.02 - do exactly what you're doing - rest up and then go back at it:)

Learning to cope with this is an interesting challenge. After stinging flares, my body too feels as if I was in a Marathon then hit by a bus and run over by the tires.
As I recoupe I sense way in deep of my arms below the elbows a heavy feeling as if something thickness of molasses is slowly pumping and my arms feel like lead.
Lately it zaps my energy so much ..... Thanks for letting me share.
