Jaw Neuropathy and Teeth Cleanings
Prior to getting body wide small fiber neuropathy symptoms, I got regular dental cleanings every 6 months. Ever since this terrible disease came on I stopped going to the dentist. I have sensory symptoms in my eye, face, jaw, teeth and throat (mostly on the left side).
I made an appointment with a No Fear Dentistry place because I figure they would have a little more experience with this issue. I've never had any fear of the dentist prior to all this facial pain. For those who have facial symptoms, are you still going to the dentist? Does it cause you pain? |
U read my mind! I need a cleaning so bad, but I have to afraid to go. I made and cancelled two appointments. Anybody worsen after a cleaning?

For cleanings, (I don't do this personally) but hygienists can set up appointments for 10 mins cleaning. Also if one needs something more they can sedate you. Again expensive w/o ins. I always return with a sore face. And request only a pano never those individual in mouth x rays..... There is a lot of comfort thingys but not completely pain free.:grouphug: |
The technology and techniques in densitry hasnt evolved much in the last few decades, drilling, aggressive cleaning are still primitive in comparasion to other forms of medicines. The only thing i think is useful during the procedure would be the lidocaine numbing, but after that wears off, all bets are off.
