Has anyone had similar experiences?

Hi, my name is Antony.
I joined this forum recently and I left an introduction on the main page, then I got redirected to this forum so I shall ask my questions here.

Three weeks ago I started having pain in the right side of my face but only when I lie down.
It didn't matter if I lay on my right or my left or even on the back of my head, after about 10 minutes of lying down I would get pain in the right side of my face.
This pain would go away after a few minutes of pacing around my bedroom, but would return when I lay down again.

After two weeks I went to see my GP and after a short talk and examination she said she thinks I have TN.
She set up a load of blood tests and has referred me to a neurologist.
She gave me a prescription for Amitriptyline and I was to take one a day for the first week.

When I got home I looked up the resources she gave me(NHS website and Neuro UK) and scared myself half to death.
I took 1 tablet and the next day I was quite nauseous and drowsy, I also took one the next day before deciding that because of the low success rate ive read of these tablets and because I'm not sure of what I have yet and that id like to keep my appetite while fighting through these early stages I stopped taking them.

The second day after seeing my GP I had my first Attack(all the other pains seemed to be as a result of something that id done such as lying down) This attack just came on it's own and lasted for 15 minutes and was very intense.

After this attack I have had no more pain at all and this was seven days ago.

I have had the blood tests yesterday(I had to give NINE samples and I had to lie down afterwards because I was feeling faint lol) and I am waiting for the results and the neurologist will contact me.

Has anyone else had it happen exactly like this where I have two weeks of pain that only affects me as a result of something I did rather than a random attack and then one large attack and then nothing for seven days so far?

Could I possibly have a remission this early or is it not likely TN?
Or could it be that I am one of the very few lucky ones where it just goes away?

I have so many questions and so little answers...
