I find only gastrointestinal viruses to be a trigger for an excruciating flare.

We're talking about a virus or cold causing an increase in symptoms (flares), not them being the cause of our PN.

Also, she had about 4 months of intense progression of symptoms, then it tapered off. So I guess she falls under the camp of having a sensory variant of GBS. |
For what it's worth, my sister developed polymyalgia rheumatica immediately after a bout with a nasty flu. She and I both had the flu, but I got over it without incident. I remember her asking me if I had all the horrible aches and pains that she did, which I didn't. Her PMR lasted almost exactly two years, and then went away as mysteriously as is came.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymyalgia_rheumatica "Studies are inconclusive, however several somewhat common viruses were identified as possible triggers for PMR.[8] The viruses thought to be involved include the adenovirus, which causes respiratory infections; the human parvovirus B19, an infection that affects children; and the human parainfluenza virus." |
Yes. I worked in kindergarden and had a viral infecton than after.three weeks those symptoms. Nit two.months before the onset of symptoms I had a gastro virus, but I think it is too far ago to be the.cause. i am affraid what is going to happen if I get another cold.
