Hello. If a cold is a trigger, how is it when you get ypur next cold? I am so scared I have a sore throat.

Everyone is different so not everyone has this reaction (maybe others can talk to specific causes of neuropathy that are triggered by this). For me usually when I get sick I do have an increase in sensitivity over my body but not always...if you have never had this problem before don't stress yourself out thinking it could happen - that stress could also give you more problems!

I find only gastrointestinal viruses to be a trigger for an excruciating flare.

I just got over a cold, and it had no effect on my symptoms.

I see. So is it possible to have gastro virus two months ago.and than pn? After two months

We're talking about a virus or cold causing an increase in symptoms (flares), not them being the cause of our PN.

It is entirely possible. I know a woman who lives in the same city as me, who developed SFN after a gastro virus. However, I think her onset was a little closer to her virus. Her symptom picture is very significant so she ended up in pretty rough shape.

Also, she had about 4 months of intense progression of symptoms, then it tapered off. So I guess she falls under the camp of having a sensory variant of GBS.

For what it's worth, my sister developed polymyalgia rheumatica immediately after a bout with a nasty flu. She and I both had the flu, but I got over it without incident. I remember her asking me if I had all the horrible aches and pains that she did, which I didn't. Her PMR lasted almost exactly two years, and then went away as mysteriously as is came.

Yes. I worked in kindergarden and had a viral infecton than after.three weeks those symptoms. Nit two.months before the onset of symptoms I had a gastro virus, but I think it is too far ago to be the.cause. i am affraid what is going to happen if I get another cold.
