Hello, did anyone here had lyme disease and pn is because of that? I have to do the test for lyme disease, by myself, because dr said if I did not have an eritema, I do not have it. I am a little bit affraid, what if I had the first phase of lyme disease and I didnt know abut it and now I have phase two and am pregnant. If there are any effects of my unborn child...

Call or email Igenex, they will send you a kit along with paperwork to have the test done. If your primary doctor is willing to sign off on the request form, all you have to do is have the blood drawn at your docs office, if they do that or go to local hospital and their lab will draw the blood....mine charged $50 to do the draw since the lab was not going to do the testing. I then went to my local Fed Ex and it was sent off to Igenex, 2 day ship. ......make sure YOU send it off as quickly as possible after the blood is drawn and follow their instructions and if there are any questions, make sure to call them.

Keep in mind that you should find a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor as they will give the best analysis of the results....look for an ILADS trained one. If you go to ILADS.com and fill out the online request, they will respond to your request with those closest to where you live. LLMD docs prefer to have their referrals being made through sites like ILADS due to the controversy over the beliefs about "chronic Lyme".
Also, make sure you request a copy from your doc who signed off on the request, don't assume that a negative result is one that says you are negative for Lyme. There are many views to this but remember you need to be your own advocate especially if you can't get the answers to your concerns.

In my case, Lyme might be a possibility. Just waiting for my LLMD appointment which is not till November !! ....need to be patient !!....not that I want it to be Lyme but again just need some long awaited answers.

Keep in mind that not everyone has the rash or even knows whether they were bitten....I did recall finding a tick on myself...at this point don't remember exactly when it was even, however I have had many health issues over the past 5 years and only realized in the last 4 months or so that Lyme might be a possibility since nothing else has panned out.

All the best to you

My Small Fiber Neuropathy is due to Lyme and / or Bartonella.

I would strongly recommend doing the "Advance Labs" Lyme blood culture test, as it is more accurate than the Igenex Western Blot (which still misses 30% of positive cases).

Here is the website for Advanced Labs:

Best of luck!

Thanks. So you have chronic Lyme? Did you get antibiotics or no?
