Hope to end numbness?
I've been dealing with foot numbness(idiopathic PN) going on 4 years, took B-12 by the bushel for over a year. No improvement, but thankfully no worsening of numbness.
Is there any hope of one day regaining 'normal' sensation in my feet? :icon_sad: |

The only "repreive" from numbness is occassional pain, like when my daughter's bike kickstand raked across my big toe. Oh how I wanted numbess back for that five minutes of agony.
It was like a hotfoot time infinity, or so I imagined. She is unbelievably understanding of my infirmity. I don't think there is a current "back from numbness" method, but who knows what the future brings. I read a news story about a guy who is a parapalegic who with a combo of exoskelton and injections took thousands of steps. That is amazing. So who knows. |

We seem to have similar-ish symptoms tho' my numbness also includes lower legs. Like you I've had PN for 4 years & the cause is unknown Since joining the forum recently I've been reading-up quite a bit & was hoping to see some success stories in reducing the symptoms. The absence of responses to your question confirms what I'd started to think: there are no solutions. You've also, unless anyone says they've had success with B12, put me off trying that For what it's worth I've found sitting with my legs on a foot-stool help, tho' that isn't always possible & may not be of any help to you. I've also found that changing my car has allowed me to drive more; I had been thinking of giving-up driving but a very different driving position has made driving much easier Fortunately, I'm still able to have 2 or 3 glasses of nice wine in an evening without having any problems later (not every evening I hasten to add; just twice a week) Hopefully, you've found a few little 'tricks' to help you Kind regards & best wishes David |
Ken, my haircutter was told she is borderline diabetic so far she has lost 30 lbs and going for more and she said she is doing this by eliminating everything WHITE in her diet....
Colorful wonderful veggies, protein and lots of Water and minimum fruit. As far as numbness, about 80% of my right thigh is numb from hip replacement and nerve damage....I've been able to eliminate burning but numbness could be with me for the rest of my life. It's 5 yrs. I massage my thigh and sometimes grip areas tightly for some relief. |
