Determining what step I'm in.

Submitted my application on 3-20-15 then submitted function report on 5-1-15 Today I received a message that my case has been sent to health review board. What step does this usually take place in?

Confused by your question... I've never heard of claims being send out to a "health review board." Adjudicators have Medical Experts they can have review medical records and determine RFC ratings for. If you haven't received a denial yet, then you're still in the first stage (not step).

Thanks for responding, the message was from a representative that helped me apply for ssdi and ssi while I was recovering from a cardiac procedure and stroke. She has no affiliation with social security other than assisting patients who cannot pay for treatment. I have tried repeatedly to contact my reviewer. I've left messages but no response. I think you are correct as I have not received a denial and must be in the first stage. Thanks LIT LOVE

If a non attorney rep wrote that out I'd be very concerned about how much experience they have.

Did you apply online? Applicants can check their status online, but you'll definitely receive written notification when you're approved or denied.

Adjudicators can be very busy and might not be great about returning general calls. If you have any new medical documents since you applied, you might want to make sure they're submitted. Depending on when your stroke was, SS is most concerned about your function at the one year mark I believe.

TIP: When leaving messages w/the Adjudicators/Claims Reps, make sure you also leave your CLAIM/CASE NUMBER. The # is what identifies you & makes it easier for them to look up your case file to return phone calls.
