Hello!
I'm an 82-year-old woman and have seen a neurologist on and off for about ten years. Diagnosed as idiopathic peripheral neuropathy. Nothing they could do about it apparently. Tried Lyrica and several other meds, but side effects were too unpleasant. Nerve pain, like electric shocks...increasing numbness in feet. Nowadays the pains come infrequently, quite severe at times, but it is the numbness that worries me. Seems to be moving up my legs, even into thighs sometimes. Especially in the mornings when I get up, have to hold onto things due to extreme stiffness and numbness. It wears off to some extent but never completely.
Anyway, am happy to find this forum and hope to learn more from the rest of you. Thank you!! |

Numby, I've been dealing with osteoarthritis for MOST of my life, and I'm 77. Now in recent years my feet have worsened and last night while sleeping, pain came on like thunder, burning in toes on right foot. Right side of my body is so worse as right hip was replaced and I deal with a number of complications. I just posted about this on the Neuropathy section here. Do you deal with OA?

Numby, I have read and heard enough for many years of the side effects of osteoporosis drugs, maybe that could be an issue. I know statins too cause so many issues.
I take bone supports and Strontium Citrate to keep bones strong. Just Thinking. |
