CRPS in Winter

Hey guys!

I haven't been on here in a while; life got so busy!

But this will be my first winter with CRPS and I'm worried I'm going to lose all the progress I've made when winter comes.

Anyone have any winter-specific tips? What kinds of warm fabrics are less harsh with allodynia?

Much appreciated!

I thought I had the colder weather beat, but no! I could barely move this AM, it was so cold in my house.

Wondering this myself. I was going to start a post, but I am glad to see somebody else had this concern too.

Purple, this abrupt weather change is doing me in. I am wearing heavy leggings, socks and two fleece tops, but I still feel chilled. And it is not from sitting around, I cannot do too much of that, because my butt aches. Maybe I need to wear a hat and Uggs, too. ;)

Yeah cold weather is rough.....warm shower....those warmers that goes in socks...gloves....but be prepared to have to rip them off when the turnic feeling hits....basically it's a dance with the monster....keeps us alert:eek:

This will be my first winter too, so not sure what to expect. I live in the south so it's still in the 90's here, but we do have a few fairly cold months. I think there were many suggestions in the lifesavers thread about things that help. May be worth a re-read in the near future. Hello to all! ~mac :)

I've been busy too and am now catching up with everyone's posts. To answer your question about winter specific tips, i love wool socks. My crps makes my feet cold. I wear wool socks around the house. I also love my electric blanket. It feels like heaven to get into a warm bed. Kinda like getting into a warm bath. Oh the leaves are falling outside now. Trees are not very colorful yet so my guess is i have a few weeks of fairly decent weather left.

Like everyone else I too suffer more in cold weather. One big reason for my moving to NC from Mt. I'd would probably move farther south but I'd miss the mountains too much.
Cold and humidity is the worst. As luck would have it it they both exist here too. But not to the extremes of up north.
My advice would be aligned with Enna. But if you get hot flashes like I do get ready to disrobe!

Thanks for adding this....there are days were I literally feel like I can't get the garment off fast enough! Ldn has calmed some of the hot crps for me.
I too like the mountains so finding that balance is not easy.
