Good morning. Injection question

Tomorrow I will be having my second procedure. It will be another nerve block and ketamine infusion. He is also doing an injection in my foot. He did tell me what it was but I forgot. ( I will be recording office visits from now and on). Many Drs run in and out of visits, mine stays for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour ( I am definitely not complaining but I can't remember). I even bring people with me and they don't remember lol.

So has anyone had this injection it's a general anesthetic. Not sure what medicine. He's putting it in my foot by my main nerve damage. He wanted to do it in his office the other day but I decided to do it while I was under.
I was just wandering the outcome of anyone having this

Hugs and God bless.

Sorry but I will be of no help...but I wanted to wish you a good procedure for tomorrow. Keep your spirits up....many moons ago I had a steriod shot in my foot.....dunno if that is what you will be getting....don't worry it is a lot to take in and being the patient as well....soft hugs and please keep us posted on how things go.....:grouphug:

Hi Julie,

Sounds like you are having a peripheral nerve block. Those can be done with lidocaine which will simply numb the nerve or with lido and steroid which will numb it AND calm it down for a while. If going to the trouble of getting one I'd go for the steroid mixed in myself. That is likely what they are doing.

I read an article that came out in the last year by a group of Physical Medicine doctors who advocated for the use of peripheral nerve blocks as a frontline treatment for CRPS. Calming the nerve at the source may help.

I hope you have a good procedure and stellar results.

I know that the nerve block will be in my back. The sympathetic nerve block. But he is also doing the shot. Not sure if that's a nerve block too but he did say it was going either near my nerve or in it. So I'm not sure. I just hope it helps. Thanks for the info

Hugs

Ps last ketamine treatment I went to China lol. I will let y'all know where I go tomorrow
