Juddering jaw & headache
My dad has had a lot of health problems including heart issues, fibromyalgia (for which he has given pre-gablin/lyrica) but lately has been unwell with what he calls a 'juddering' in his jaw. He doesn't think it's a tremor but describes it as a 'thumping' or 'pulsing'. This constant irritation is causing a tight band of pain around his head, which is of course very distressing. He's got an appointment to see a neurologist in the next week, but we're at a loss as to what it might be.
A side effect of pre-gablin perhaps? Anyone else ever had this feeling particularly in jaw? One doctor had suggested it could be parkinsons but he doesn't seem to fit the bill on that. Up until 6 weeks ago, he was out walking the dog up to 3 miles a day and generally quite fit, considering his pain condition. However, this all kicked off when the dr prescribed Prozac. Prozac did not agree with him so after 5 days he stopped taking it. That's when the juddering/head pain really seemed to kick in (though he's had the juddering for about 18 months) Googling doesn't seem to give any further clues! |
Hello Grace,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. I hope you're able to get some answers when he sees the Neurologist this week. He's not grinding his teeth in his sleep is he? In the meantime you could ask over on the Medications & Treatments Forum "For discussion about medications and treatments for any disease or health condition, including issues of medication toxicity." You could also try a Forum Search take care there. |
