My hands are peeling and shiny is that RSD?

It's driving my crazy. I can't stop picking at the dry peeling skin in the palm of both of my hands. Underneath the dead tough skin is super shiny skin. My CRPS has just started spreading to my right arm and abdomen. Does this mean its spreading everywhere? I have been ill for 10 years, it has been contained to my left arm. All of a sudden everything is changing.

hello,

I have an area on the sole of my affected foot that does that, but the area has had two surgeries and two rounds of radiation. I am not sure what's what! Though my docs tell me the radiation wouldn't have done to that to the skin at the dose I received.

Do you have anyone taking care of you? If you don't have pain management, it would be a good time to get on board with someone since you have concerns about spread. They might be able to answer about your hands as well. If not maybe dermatology?...

I hope you find relief soon.

Hello Dhall748,

Are you by any chance taking any type of medication, prescription or over the counter? Anything new in your daily routine. This could be an allergic reaction to something. My dad is allergic to both Tylenol and aspirin. When he takes either of these, his hands peal, become red and the skin underneath becomes shiny. All from an allergy.

I too would recommend seeing a dermatologist.
Good luck on finding relief

Hard to say whay might be going on. I agree with Little Paw and Purple foot, it sounds like a good time for a medical consult if everything seems to be changing. Hopefully since you are already diagnosed you have a MD you trust to help you find some answers and treatment. ~mama mac

Hi Dhall748,

I hope you get some answers soon.
I also hope you experience relief soon.

On the concern about "spreading," I think I would pursue a professional opinion and/or intervention as soon as possible. Maybe just my own take on this.

Interested in learning whatever you learn about your concerns, interested in how you are doing, if you'd like to share.:)
