Radiation Detox (from medical imaging)

I am looking for info on what to do before and after a CT scan that I am going to have.

I think my scan will not involve any contrast.
It will essentially be a 3D head scan (focus is on the jaws) with only a "small" radiation dose, but nevertheless.

I have heard of people planning/doing a "detox" (not sure if that is the correct word to use) after they have their scans, but not much actual details.

I hope this is the right place to ask about it and get some guidance and collective wisdom from people on this amazing forum. Any insight in the actual steps / materials used will be greatly appreciated!

Siobhan,

Are you familiar with homeopathy? I personally use various remedies depending on the circumstances and know lots of other people who find them to be beneficial also.

Because you seem to be someone who thinks deeply into things, here is a link with excellent information on using specific homeopathy prior to and after radiation exposure.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you again, Bryanna. You are just awesome, we are lucky to have you!

It looks to me my best (safest) bet is to stick to healthy food - Carotenoids, Black and green tea, beans, lentils, and garlic will be a must and easy to have.

I think I'll stay away from sea weeds as I've read about its potential toxicity and inability for the consumer to know where exactly was it harvested.

Also Homeopathic X-ray and Cadmium sulphuricum seem like something that only a more knowledgeable person could use, I am concerned I could make things worse.

I've (of course) combed the web on this topic and managed to memorise only a few things.
Eg. scientists seem to be divided on a few things, eg. if high levels of vit C are beneficial or actually counterproductive. I am currently using 1g in morning and 1g evening.

Seems like sticking to those good veggies, green tea (I read somehwere that it should be decaffeinated), beans and garlic. Also, very important is to avoid bad foods.

In regards to Apis mellifica, I am not sure what is it and in what form is it sold and how can I buy it ????

My doctor told me there is no such thing as protection from CT xrays (??).

I am also wondering if MRI of this region (jaws/sinuses) is a valid option to consider in lieu of CT? Would it show as good data as a CT scan? Can MRI show the jaw bones AND all soft tissues as well as CT??

Siobhan,

If you can consume plenty of anti oxidants in your whole foods diet pre and post op the scan that would be ideal!

I personally am not leery of using homeopathic remedies as I understand how they work. But if you are not comfortable with using them, then just be sure to eat a high antioxidant clean diet.

Regarding the remark made by your doctor..... A conventional doctor will most likely be clueless about radiation protection from scans. He has no teaching in that sort of thing. However, that does not mean that protection is not possible.

Apis.... https://www.elixirs.com/apis.cfm

The best scan to have for the jaw and sinuses is one that targets those areas in multiple slices. Your oral surgeon is the one to determine which scan is best for your individual needs.

Thank you Bryanna.

I have also read somewhere about some baths (epsom salt and / or soda bicarb) but the written material is messy and hard to comprehend what exactly should be used, how, when, for how long, etc. I then also read about serious side effects of (I think) epsom salts, so I'm currently unable to draw any firmer conclusions.
Would you mind sharing your experience or opinion / knowledge about these 2 types of baths?
And can both these be used together in the same bath water??

Siobhan,

I recommend a epsom salt and baking soda bath post radiation. Here is a site that talks about this detoxifying bath and gives exact instructions near the end of the article. It does not mention radiation per say, but it is therapeutic for that detox as well.

Hope this helps.
