Colonscopy/endoscopy pain free for a few hours
The prep was dreadful, no sleep and then a long wait while several doctors discussed whether or not the procedures should be performed, but they were and I enjoyed a small window of pain free time after the events. As unbelievable as this sounds I forgot what it is like not to hurt. It's bliss.
You have to remind the hospital staff over and over about CRPS. I am in pain today, because I did not make it clear that in addition to pediatric cameras and needles and hot towels I also had to be positioned extra carefully. My bad. Next time I am bringing a poster board with info printed on it. I ached so much the next day that even after soaking in a tub with Epsom salts I did not notice the sticky pad leads on my body. |
Hi Biobased,
Aren't you glad the procedures are now behind you? :D I have started to despise colonoscopies, when I used to think nothing of them. It is quite interesting to feel no discomfort (as in "no pain"). I am sorry this bliss did not last for you. Thanks so much for the update. I hope you feel better, pronto. DejaVu |
Bio,
I hope that you recover soon from the procedure. The no pain part sounds really good though! Take care and be extra nice to yourself. ~mac |
My sister brought me her large, infared heating pad with jade discs. It helped. She also brought me frankincense neuropathy oil-not sure if this helped, but the smell is pleasant and I did not mind having this rubbed in.
Between the heating pad and Epsom salts soaks I am improving again. I was able to stand long enough to fry an egg this morning. |
Hi Biobased,
How sweet of your sister! I am glad you are starting to feel better. The mat with the jade is interesting. I have only seen the biomats with amethyst. I did not try one, as the amethyst ones are quite expensive. Cooked yourself an egg? Great! I could not stand long enough to cook this morning. I use a tall stool in the kitchen, if I am there very long. I was just in too much pain to stay in the kitchen at all this morning. I have had good luck with rice-filled hot packs. They are so flexible and the heat so deeply penetrating. I will do a search on the mat you have mentioned. I hope you continue to feel better with each passing moment. DejaVu |
