No clue what`s going on with me and my head
I`ll try to break this down by trying to follow a timeline. Oh and my age is 45 right now.
In 1998 while sitting in a bus in London I suddenly got this feeling of not being myself, feeling like being in a cloud. Back then I did not think much of it and from what I can remember I fairly quickly got back to normal. In 1999 after an argument with my spouse I suddenly got very strange feelings, like lightheadedness, light sensitivity, sometimes a slight feeling of a heavy leg and occasionally headaches. That lastet for at least 3 month probably more like 4 or 5 from what I can remember. Back then I was so convinced that some physical brain condition was the trigger for all the ill feeling. As a matter of fact I thought right away I have vCJD as I was living in the UK during the BSE crises. As a result of the bad health service in the UK, took ages to get an appointment for a specialist we decided to move back to Germany where I was able to get an appointment with a neurologist fairly quickly. He assured me that those symptoms are very likely a result of anxiety. And after seeing another specialist a few weeks later who did an EEG that showed no abnormalities I was convinced that was fine and all symptoms went away. Fast forward to 2005 the year we moved to Japan. I took a shower I suddenly got a spasm in my right hand while holding the shower head in that hand. It quickly took hold of my right forearm and then went all the way up my arm and suddenly I passed out. I was out for at least 20 minutes. Went right away to the nearest neurologist who performed a MRI of the brain but there was nothing unusual. Over the years my anxiety got worse same for my OCD. Then in 2008 I suddenly got symptoms of light sensitivity, light headedness , headaches. Again we decided to get an MRI of the brain done and agin it came all back clear. After that the symptoms went away. Then 2012 I started to feel really tired in the morning even after a good night of sleep. Same after eating lunch. The extreme morning tiredness is part of my daily, unlike the tiredness after eating. New symptoms started to appear, like a dull pain, a pressing pain either above my right eye, or the right temple, sometimes right at the center top of my skull, occasionally at the back of my skull. That`s around the same time I got a furuncle in my right nostril which appeared and disappeared at random. The pain was noticeable right to the top of my skull. 2013, again light sensitivity, headaches, light headedness and suddenly problems with short term memory. I had mini black outs where I could for a second not remember what I was about to do or what Iw as thinking about. The neurologist did another MRI of the brain and could not find anything. Symptoms went went away shortly afterwards. 2014, during the summer my pressure pain above my right eye, top of my skull and other parts of my head came back. Which worried me, at the same time I noticed as well blood in my stool, just small amounts. Same happened in 2008 but got an all clear from after an Colonoscopy. Same in 2014, it was all clear as a matter of fact I have apparently a textbook colon. Anyway, after the colonoscopy I got really ****** of that I had these headaches again. I noticed that I started to misspeak at times, could not find the right word or had to "search" for it for a few seconds. This happened very often but to myself it was noticeable as it never happened before. Then in December all over sudden I got severe light sensitivity again and light headedness. As if someone flicked the switch. At times I felt like my whole body is burning, especially my arms, the skin felt terrible. Felt like I was in a cloud, started to withdraw and became a lot more quiet.I could not concentrate anylonger on tasks In was performing on a daily bases.Loud sounds started to irritate me, I became aggressive at times and very irritable. I had moments where my concentration came back for a while, maybe 10 minutes sometimes longer and then it was back to not being able to focus. My short term memory declined too, same as in 2013 but much more pronounced. I get a burning feeling on the right side of my face at times, burning at the back of my head again. This is still ongoing with rarely any relief.I had maybe a couple of days during the summer where I felt better but generally it`s all still ongoing. A month ago I started now to get strong pain radiating down from my right side of the neck into the right shoulder and the right arm. At times I get pain in certain joints too and my right eye feels dry at times but not for very long. Oh and I remember this day in 2008 where I could not really see proper on my right eye as if my vision was disturbed by some white spot. Anyway for some reason my condition is not getting any better and I feel like my brain might be falling apart even though 3 MRIs of the brain over a period of almost 10 years never showed anything wrong. Last but not least all this made 2015 a waste of a year. |
You mention blood in stool so I wondered if you have problems with eating gluten? There is a connection for some people with migraines and gluten sensitivity or celiac disease. There are so many different types of migraines too. I just wanted to ask about the gluten.

rectal bleeding, is the blood a streak on the poop or toilet paper, that usually is a sign of minor tear in the ****.U sually the result of lack of fiber or constipation. Another possibility is that what your symptoms is stemming from may not be from brain. Have you been tested for vitamin deficiencies, autoimmune, what blood work have you doine. Have you been tested for MS, ms lesions come and go, hard to diagnose on an MRI, you should consider other autoimmune disease as well. |
Rockers, are you on any prescription medication (psychiatric or physical health-related)?
Sometimes meds can interact with each other in unfavourable ways and/or can have unwanted side-effects. |
Welcome
Hi Rockers,
Some of your symptoms are similar to chronic migraine. As Lara has mentioned, there are many types of migraine, as well. Migraine is fairly creative in offering many types of odd symptoms, sensations, experiences. In addition to foods/additive, environmental exposures, weather changes and stress, loss of sleep have quite an impact. I have had so many symptoms/signs from many types of chronic migraine. A friend of mine has severe migraines and passes out. Have you had your neck or spine scanned? An impingement in the cervical spine, or at any level, can also cause many symptoms. Have you seen a neurologist? Hope you feel better asap. Warmly, DejaVu |
