It is coming soon to your region of the USA

Hi Everyone,

Here it comes,... ready or not.... Thanksgiving, 2015.

I just want to say how Thankful I am for my NT friends and family.

Would love to hear what your plans are for turkey day if you care to share.

Thanks,

Hope (less)

Am I too early to ask about one's plans for turkey day?

It is less than 3 weeks away so I thought people may already have some plans in place.

I plan to stay in my pj's all day. Cook my little turkey when I get up (whatever time that turns out to be) and eat when it is done. And then have some turkey to pick at as the evening rolls around.

That was my plan last year, too, but I did not feel up to putting the bird in the oven so I had MY Thanksgiving dinner on the weekend instead of Thursday. I hope to cook it ON Thanksgiving Day this year but time will determine if that goes as planned. :)

Hope, I'll be thinking of you on your Thanksgiving Day.

Dear Lara,

How funny that the ONLY person that has responded is NOT in the USA.

I was wondering if many of the NT community go to visit family or host dinner since so many of us are "disabled".

I no longer do either as evident by my post. No pressure to have to go anywhere or do anything if I am not up to it. Kind of nice to be able to just be and relax. I DO think about how thankful I am for my friends here.

Thanks so much for responding.

Hey there Hope :)

Well my friend you already know what I'm doing for Thanksgiving but I will share with everyone else :)

My husband passed on Aug 30th of this year. Both of my grown children did not want to spend Thanksgiving here at home so we are loading up and heading for the North Georgia Mountains. I've rented a cabin for a week that sits right beside a small river. We have stayed at this cabin before....probably 1999 or so.

Me, Luke and the 3 grandsons will leave on Sunday before Thanksgiving. Wednesday night Christina and her husband will follow with my granddaughter and my mom......mom doesn't want to go so I'm trying to work something out so she can stay home but we'll see.

I'm looking forward to a nice roaring fire in the fire place and seeing all the grandchildren laying around the living room watching tv or playing games. Of course there are stairs to the 2nd floor so I'm thinking there will be lots of small footsteps going up and down.....up and down those stairs !

Taking my 2 dogs with me....Angus and Charlie. Since I lost my Bubba they are my constant companions.

I hope others will follow my post with their plans too. It's a nice break from the usual you know ?

Thanks Hope for starting this thread. Love you girl !

Debi from Georgia

Bumping up in case I was just too early when I started the thread.

So it is your Thanksgiving Day tomorrow, the 26th?

I had to laugh Hope. I thought I'd missed it in my travelling time but now realize it hadn't happened yet. ;)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

I'm thankful for knowing you all. Eat some pie for me please. No pie here.

Happy Thanksgiving to all across The Pond.

Hi Hope,

Gosh I am late here! But evidently it is still too early to know about my Thanksgiving plans. I am not deciding until 7 am tomorrow morning! With the weather coming and flood warnings my planned 200 mile road trip may not be happening. In which case we might just be bumming around.

I hope you and everyone has a beautiful day with many small and hopefully a few big blessings to be Thankful for.

To my friends in other countries,.... You may not have the USA Thanksgiving Day, but you are definitely people that I am thankful for knowing and I will be saying many thanks for you being in my life when I say my Thanks tomorrow. You are such a blessing in my life.

Hope
